Two ways for this:
– 1 tissue paper test
– 2 questionnaire

  • 1 Tissue paper test:

At the end of the day put a tissue all over your face.
There is 4 different types of skin:
    1- dry skin:
    no grease on the tissue
    2- oily skin:
    oily tissue
    3- mixed skin:
tissue impregnated on central part (T-zone/forehead, nose, chin)
    4- normal skin:
some small traces of grease on the tissue

We will detail the 4 skin types:
1- Dry skin:
Rough skin, not smooth when touched, fine lines, tight skin.
skin with crevices, chapped skin.
It is a skin which has an excessive water loss, the sebum* secretion is insufficient. The skin is sensitive to weather changes and detergents. It is a skin prone to flaking, eczema, rosacea.
2- Oily skin:
Shiny skin, large pores which mean excess sebum.
This excess sebum makes the skin not very fragile not sensitive, but resistant.
The aggravating factors of this sebum discharge are: stress, fatigue, tobacco, alcohol, menopause.
3- Mixed skin:
Rough skin on the cheeks and tightness, shiny on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin)
it is the most common type of skin, 70% of adults.
4- Normal skin:
Rare, just after adolescence and before 30 years old.
The skin is supple, fine, very tight grain with an almost flawless velvety appearance.

There can be sensitive and reactive skin as well as dehydrated skin
explanations:
5- Sensitive and reactive skin:
Exaggerated reaction to wind, cold, stress, unsuitable cosmetics.
It is due to a lower than normal skin permeability as dermatosis, atopy.
Thin, clear skin, stressed person and who uses conventional cosmetics.
6- Dehydrated skin
Skin with fine lines, tightness, lack of flexibility.
When pressed the skin does not return to the original position. The skin has lost its water-retaining power. This is a temporary situation that often appears after a shower, during winter or in the event of heavy pollution.
It is a skin that lacks water inside. Person who does not drink enough water.
Dehydrated skin can occur after psychological shock, through the use of overly aggressive cleansers.
The pillow test:
If you wake up with traces of the pillow on your cheek it is because your skin is dehydrated, you need to drink more water.
